Pennsylvania Casino Opens Hiring Center With Their Eye On Summer Opening

On Thursday, Penn National Gaming announced that it plans to open Hollywood Casino York this summer. The casino will open in August in the former Sears store at the York Galleria Mall in Springettsbury Township York County, pending regulatory approvals.

As they up for the casino opening, the mall has also opened a career center on the mall. And it has begun to accept applications for jobs at the mini-casino.

The hiring center is open from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday – Friday with hours expected to expand in the near future, with the casino planning on hiring about 200 workers.

“We are thrilled to begin accepting applications from residents of York County and neighboring communities,” Erin Chamberlin, senior vice president of regional operations for Penn National said in the press release. We look forward to interviewing candidates for the vast array of jobs. That is available in advance of our expected grand opening in August.

The casino will cost nearly $120 million, including the slot machines and table games license fees.

The facility will include about 500 slot machines and 24 table games. with the ability to accommodate up to 750 slot machines and 40 table games. Hollywood Casino York will also offer a Barstool Sportsbook and race book, casual restaurant and bar, and grab-and-go eatery.

Penn National has 41 properties across 19 states. The Company’s properties include approximately 50,000 gaming machines, 1,300 table games and 8,800 hotel rooms. Penn National also operates Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in East Hanover Township. And it plans to open Hollywood Casino Morgantown in Berks County later this year.
